Every year on the occasion of the release of a new version of the operating system from the Android family, everyone is pondering on its name. One thing is certain, it will start with the next letter of the alphabet and the name will be associated with sweetness. That’s why, after Android 7 Nougat, it came to Android 8 Oreo. Rumours about this name appeared on the net some time ago, but it was not official. This type of reporting has not always worked. Previous Android version was suspected to be called Nutella, but we got Nougat.
This is the second time Google has decided to baptize its system with the name of commercial sweetness. Previously it was Android 4.4 KitKat, which was released 4 years ago. Will Oreo fall into the history of operating systems with a green robot? Google boasts that the new Android is smarter, faster and more powerful than ever. Of course, it could not be otherwise. After all, that is exactly what development is, which must also be present in the mobile operating system market.
The most important new features in Android Oreo are: image in the image and Autofill.
Android now allows you to split the screen and display two applications side by side. Android Oreo goes a step ahead and allows you to place arbitrary windows of two applications. It also streamlined the notification system, which makes it easy to display messages from applications that are interesting to us. Of course, Google also worked on improving the security of the new Android. For Oreo, we will be providing a new Google Play Protect security system that takes care not only of malware not installed on our smartphone. It will also take care of safe browsing of web pages and will assist us in finding a lost device. Android Oreo also goes one step ahead to save battery and will limit the activity of background applications. There are also features that accelerate field fill, new emoji, and support for native applications that do not require installation.
All this looks very beautiful, but unfortunately Android 8 Oreo will have the same problem as its predecessors. Of course, it is a terrible fragmentation of the version of this operating system and lack of updates. Currently, the new Android is being tested by operators on the Pixel and Nexus 5X/6P series. They should soon reach the first users. And yet this year Android Oreo is expected to appear on smartphones such as Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global (new Nokia mobiles), Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp and Sony.
