I have great news for you. A lot of people like Samsung smartphones because of their quality. Unfortunately, the most desirable models are too expensive. Therefore, people prefer to buy mid-range smartphone instead of the flagship model. It looks that Samsung wants to increase sales results, because they are working on new series of mid-range smartphone, i.e. Galaxy C.
What do you expected from your smartphone? I bet that you do not need the most powerful chipset with Virtual Reality support, unimaginable amount of RAM and huge internal storage. You need good quality screen, long battery lifetime, decent camera, support for new wireless communication (i.e. LTE and WiFi 802.11ac) standards and possibility to handle the most important applications, i.e. Facebook, Messenger, e-mail client etc.
New Samsung Galaxy C smartphone will have 4 GB of RAM, metal build and of course Android Marshmallow on board. Do you need more?
Let’s start from the beginning. Currently, you can find information about two Samsung Galaxy C models. The first is marked as SM-C5000 and has Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC (octa-core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz and Adreno 405 graphics module), 4 GB of RAM and 5.2 inches screen. Unfortunately, information about cameras and battery are unknown. Samsung Galaxy SM-C5000 has achieved 609 points in single-core Geekbench 3 benchmark. The result for multi-core test is 3147. The smartphone is designed for China market, but it should be available also in India.
The second model is more powerful, it will be the cheaper equivalent Samsung Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone.
This smartphone is called Galaxy C7 and has code name SM-C700. The information about this are from AnTuTu benchmark screenshot. It looks that Samsung Galaxy C7 will be upper-midrange variant. It will be more powerful than Galaxy A7 smartphone, but of course not as good as Galaxy S7 flagship model. This new handset will have Snapdragon 625 chip (octa-core CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz and Adreno 506 GPU), 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Samsung has decided to use 16 MP main camera and 8 MP selfie snapper. The screen has 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Of course, Galaxy C7 will also have Android Marshmallow version. The AnTuTu benchmark result is 60140 points, so it is almost as good as Galaxy S6.
Both smartphone will be probably priced about Rs. 20 000 – Rs. 25 000. It may be very good offer, but remember that Samsung probably will not prepare Android N update for these mid-range devices.
