How often do you use your smartphone to check what time it is? I do this quite often and this simple action can consume a lot of power, because the battery has to power the screen. Therefore, LG and Samsung has decided to implement Always On Display feature. How does it work?
Guys from phoneArea.com prepared short demo of this feature in the implementation of Samsung on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagship smartphones. You may suspect that Always On Display feature can drain the battery. However, you do not have to worry about this, because the feature is a well-thought-out:
- the background is always black, so the smartphone does not consume a lot of power in order to display the time,
- the display light is low,
- the feature is automatically displayed when the mobile is in a pocket or it is upside down.
Of course, the static image (i.e. clock) could cause screen burn-in, so widgets and images shown by Always On Display feature change their position once in a while. Here you can watch how this works:
