Finally! Today Apple has presented their newest smartphone, i.e. iPhone SE. I have to admit that this model is very tempting. Why? It is small (4 inches), powerful (components from iPhone 6s are used) and not so expensive. Are you interested? Fortunately, you will not have to wait long, because iPhone SE will be available in India soon.

Let’s start from the begging. iPhone SE is small smartphone with 4 inches screen, so you will able to operate using only a thumb. To be honest, it is very similar to iPhone 5s, but these are just appearances. Inside of the newest Apple smartphone you will find most of the components from iPhone 6s. So, iPhone SE is a little brother of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in body of iPhone 5s which was release in 2013. Therefore, the most important component of the newest iPhone is 64-bit A9 chip with dual-core 1.85 GHz Twister processor and PowerVR GT7600 six-core graphics. I know, that the newest Android flagship smartphones have even octa-core processors, but thanks to software and hardware optimization, A9 provides the best performance. This statement was proved in AnTuTu benchmark. iPhone SE has also the main camera known from iPhone 6s, i.e. 12MP iSight with support for 4K video recording.

What are differences? So, the front camera has lower resolution than in iPhone 6s, i.e. 1.2MP instead of 5MP, but it also supports Retina Flash feature. Also, I have found some differences in supported connectivity features. At first, iPhone SE is LTE category 4 UE, i.e. it supports standard LTE with download speeds up to 150 Mbps (iPhone 6s and 6s are LTE-Advanced devices). iPhone SE supports also 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi standards, but without MIMO (unlike iPhone 6s and 6s Plus).

In my opinion the biggest advantage of iPhone SE is the battery. Why? Apple did not publish the capacity of battery installed in iPhone SE, but the battery life time is even better than in case of iPhone 6s. What about prices and release date? iPhone SE will be prices starting from about Rs. 30 000 (the global price is $399) for 16 GB version. iPhone SE 64 GB will be available for about Rs. 37 500 (the global price is $499). The newest Apple smartphone will be available in India at the beginning of April.
