EVGA is known GPU cards manufacturer and they have published the specification of their first laptop dedicated of course for players.  This computer is marked as EVGA SC17 and was presented during CES 20160 trade shows in Las Vegas. Is it worth of buying? Let’s see.

EVGA SC17 is equipped with 17.3 inches screen with 3840 x 2160 pixels resolutions and has very powerful components. The laptop is powered by quad core core processor (with eight thread) Intel Core i7-6820HK based on Skylake microarchitecture. All cores are clocked at 2.7 GHz and it is increased to 3.6 GHz in Turbo mode. Very interesting is the fact, that EVGA allows us to overclock the CPU not only from BIOS, but thanks to EOC technique, it is possible overclock the CPU by dedicated functional keys. The high gaming performance is provided by Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M GPU with 8 GB of GDDR5 RAM and two modules of RAM G.Skill DDR4-2666 with 16 GB capacity each (32 GB in total). What about storage? Expect SSD M.2 module with NVMe interface and 256 GB capacity, you will find also 1 TB hard disk. Connectivity capabilities look very interesting, because this gaming laptop support Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards in AC-8260 variant and it has also Ethernet 1 Gbps port. EVGA SC17 has also built-in subwoofer, the 2.1 sound is provided by Realtek ALC255. The camera will allow you to record 1080p, so this should be very appreciated by gaming video bloggers.

Other interfaces are also amazing, because you will find at you disposal two mini DisplayPort outputs, HDMI 1.4, 2x USB 3.0 type A port and a single USB 3.1 type C port. In the box, you will find also 240 W power supply, sound divider and USB type C to type A adapter. Of course, Windows 10 operating system is pre-installed. What about the pricing? The EVGA SC17 laptop is available in pre-order in US for $2700 (about Rs. 180 000) and in some European countries (Germany, France and United Kingdom) for 3200 EUR (about Rs. 243 000). However, it is not known whether EVGA will decide to release their laptop also in India.
