Xiaomi has long been established on the mobile devices market. The Chinese leader in the consumer electronics market has quite an interesting portfolio. This year, the company will offer two models of flagships equipped with the most powerful mobile processor on the market. These will be Mi 7 and the Mi MIX 2S presented. In line with the expectations of the brand’s fans, Xiaomi also has not tuned it to Apple products, more precisely the iPhone X.
After Apple presented the iPhone X in the second half of last year, everyone agreed that 2018 will belong to smartphones with large screens that cover almost the entire screen area. That’s why there were many rumours around Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S that we finally have the opportunity to confront with reality. Fortunately, the Chinese did not decide to use the screen cut-out known from the iPhone X. Two weeks ago, there were leaks suggesting that the new Xiaomi flagship will have a screen with a slight indentation on the front camera located in the upper right corner. This solution looks quite elegant, but it has not been used in the final product, where the front camera is in the bottom right corner of the case (the same as in the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2). Perhaps a copy with an indented screen (such a device appeared on the recordings) was just a prototype that Chinese designers worked on.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is designed to convince you with wireless charging and a unique camera
Snapdragon 845 in the new flagship Xiaomi is no surprise, the same processor will also be found in almost every top smartphone, which will be presented in 2018. That’s why Xiaomi needs to convince his customers to buy Mi MIX 2S in a different way. The first incentive is wireless charging Qi with a power of 7.5 W. A dedicated charger will be attached to the model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. Buyers of the other models will be able to buy it separately for the equivalent of $16 (about Rs. 1 050). When it comes to the camera, the Mi MIX 2S is equipped with two 12 Mpix lenses with optical image stabilization. High quality of photos is to result from the use of Dual Pixel technology and artificial intelligence algorithms, which recognizes objects and sharpens them.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S also has some drawbacks. The smartphone does not have a mini-jack audio connector, and the device’s memory can not be extended with a micro SD card. Therefore, if you decide to buy a Chinese frameless, you should think about the choice of the variant:
- 6 GB + 64 GB: $530 (about Rs. 34 450),
- 6 GB + 128 GB: $575 (about Rs. 37 400),
- 8 GB + 256 GB: $640 (about Rs. 41 600).
The smartphone will be sold in China from April 3 this year. Later it will be put on sale also in other countries. Unfortunately, we do not know the official prices for India market yet.
